Looks like someone took an initiative... somewhat.

Snape (and Nomalas), not arguing that it sucks. I think we were both reading/saying the same thing, just from a different perspective.

It is one of those situations that no matter how it goes, it is going to come off bad.

They open up purchasing to a large number or unlimited, and you will have people buying up all they can to sell on the secondary market, cutting off the supply to the collectors early in the offering.

They close the numbers down like they have and you end up with not enough for the collectors in some households and double shipping.

You eliminate the limited nature of the CC items, and the people that collect for that will complain.

You get rid of them completely, and we dont get pieces to the figures that make them complete.

Any way you go with it, it is always going to have a fiasco situation around it for a good sized group of people. Atleast in this case, they are trying to do something about the figure staying longer than the first day like BC2 to give the collector a chance. Unfortunately, there are far fewer people that live in households that are trying to cover what they want for their collection than there are single collectors in a house. There are also far far more people that are always trying to buck the system and get more than their fare share for pure profit no matter how you look at it. I think no matter what you do, it is going to have a group of people that lose out.

I am sure you bringing it to the attention of the board, he may not be getting away with it as planned.

-mega, including the pieces with the figs(even for an extra buck) would be a FAR better idea than the CC pack.

if I only buy 3 of the 6, then I have to shell out $25CAN or more, just to complete them. that's just wrong.

The policy came into being under my "regime" if you will. Simply put, there is always going to be a group of people upset by any given decision. The only thing we can do is try to do the best thing for the largest number of people.

Look, I understand that several of you have legitimate gripes about the process. We have to look at it beyond the individual and strive for the greater good. The fact is, this policy enables more true collectors to have access to the exclusives than before.

I mean, we could just open the floodgates and sell 'em first come, first serve, right? That's money in our pocket. But we do actually give a damn about our core collectors and try to do what's right for the majority. You should've seen the looks on the faces of our ecommerce providers when we told them we limited individual sales, not maximized them. That's a business model they'd never even heard of.

You guys really don't have a true grasp of just how many people there are out there trying to buck the system. Just on Biker Chick alone, cancelling multiples orders put about another 1,000 pieces back in the system for collectors.

Chosen: If your "friend" has a way to get past the system, I'd appreciate knowing. It's not right and he/she is only screwing loyal collectors like the folks on this board.

Mer personally - I have a feeling that if it wasn't the CC they were relased from (the figures not the acc pack), they would be released as a chase figure due to the nature of "having to have something exclusive" the action figure industry has going on now. I know I don't want to have the chase issue with Spawn and other lines that exists in the Sports line from TMP.

Dion did make a good point in the thread over on *** white board. The retailers have a wholesale price they won't purchase out of. If the items don't fit in that price range, then they won't be bought to go on the shelf/peg.

I am all for paying a couple of extra dollars for a figure for the line if it meant that I could get all the items that are intiailly shown with the figure prior to costing out. It seems though that it isn't a choice of not wanting to raise the price to get the extras to market more than it is having to get the price down for retailer to buy the figs in the first place.

Ok, put then all one line and skip the retailers. Then you have people like Guitardeth that can't do it for lack of a CC. Or they end up in price rape land of comic shops that will charge more than they should anyway.

However I did give my word I would keep num about the method.

At the end no matter what McFarlane tries, with technology there is always a way.

Though even without technology, as we already had a similar discussion about 2 months ago regarding this topic, there are many unlimited ways for one to purchase as many as he likes. (use your brains people)

I personally, place the blame on McFarlane for insisting with this exclusive idea, it's nice but not everyone gets to have something out of it because of the above.

If they continue the exclusive it's fantastic, but then everyone should also realize then when there's gold, there will also be people trying to take it without paying for it.
